The Avionics Modifications Specialist I position is one based on performing the core/basic functions of an Avionics Modifications technician. This position will have some support from a shop mentor or senior technician for daily tasks. The Avionics Modifications Specialist I should efficiently follow shop procedures and best practices, be able to complete assigned basic tasks (i.e. wire routing, basic terminations, etc.) promptly, and remain resilient to outside distractions. This position is one with a basic level of experience within the avionics field with opportunities for advancement.

 

Essential Job Functions

 

  1. Maintain a commitment to learning; exude a positive attitude and demonstrate good learning behavior (i.e. good question-asking, focus, resistance to distraction, and no cellphone use).

 

  1. Must be able to work on a team and work independently on projects, have good communication skills, and accurately document all work per industry regulations and company policies.

 

  1. Buildup harnesses, route wires, and perform basic terminations in accordance with Duncan Aviation prints, Aircraft Maintenance Manuals, or other technical instructions while maintaining a high level of quality.

 

  1. Have high-quality workmanship to a level that is consistent with Duncan Aviation Core Values.

 

  1. Project workflow; to include incoming pictures, aircraft access/disassembly, prebuild, routing, terminations, aircraft reassembly, function testing, and documentation of work performed in AS400 along with RTS signoff of Task/Inspection lines and Equipment List Revision/Equipment Removed for Access items.

 

  1. Other tasks as assigned by Crew Leads, Team Leads, or Managers; at times, given opportunities to operate at levels above current Technician Level to demonstrate proficiency.

 

Job Specific Requirements

Licenses/Certificates:   Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

Attendance:                  Regularly scheduled attendance required

Physical:                      Routinely lifts 50 lbs.; reads small print; identifies colors; repetitive motion; works in confined spaces; works in heights above four feet; tolerates products and materials associated with component maintenance; tolerates standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing and sitting

Environmental:            Tolerates working in extreme temperatures and noisy environments

 

Education and Experience

  • High School graduate or equivalent required
  • 1-2 years of aircraft maintenance/avionics experience preferred
