Our internship offerings are designed to stretch and grow students and provide an opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to real world activities. Interns are paired up with a mentor, and given hands-on experience to enhance their knowledge.

INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES ARE AVAILABLE IN THE FOLLOWING DEPARTMENTS

ACCESSORY

The Accessory Internship is an opportunity for a current full or part time student at an in-state college or university with an interest in accessory component repairs. Interns can apply their educational experience while gaining practical and valuable hands-on experience in an active accessory shop. With supervision, the Accessory intern paints, tests, adjusts, troubleshoots, repairs and/or overhauls aircraft accessory components in a clean and safe work environment according to technical publications.

AIRFRAME

The Airframe Intern, with supervision, assists with testing, adjusting and repairing, and other general tasks related to the maintenance and repair of airframe systems and components on a variety of airframes in a safe and clean work environment according to manufacturer’s specifications, Duncan Aviation approved procedures, and customer specifications. In addition, this position prepares and completes appropriate documentation in a timely manner.

AVIONICS COMPONENTS

The Components Internship is an opportunity for a current full or part time student at an in-state college or university with an interest in aircraft component repairs. Interns can apply their educational experience while gaining practical and valuable hands-on experience in an active avionics/accessory shop. With supervision the components intern paints, tests, adjusts, troubleshoots, repairs and/or overhauls aircraft components in a clean and safe work environment according to technical publications.

ENGINE LINE

The Engine Intern, with supervision, assists with testing, adjusting and repairing, and other general tasks related to the maintenance and repair of engines and engine components on a variety of engine makes in a safe and clean work environment according to manufacturer’s specifications, Duncan Aviation approved procedures, and customer specifications. In addition, this position prepares and completes appropriate documentation in a timely manner.

ENGINEERING

The Engineering Intern supports the Engineering department on a variety of projects. With supervision, this position prepares engineering data; makes engineering decisions with guidance based on data, experience and mathematical analysis; and supports aircraft technical reviews and surveys as required. In addition, the Engineering Intern demonstrates a high level of commitment to customer service and satisfaction.

FACILITIES

The Facilities Intern performs administrative functions for the facility operations team in a timely and organized manner.

HUMAN RESOURCES

The Human Resources (HR) Internship is an exciting opportunity for someone who has an interest in fields of Business or Human Resources. Interns can apply their educational experience while gaining practical hands-on HR experience in a corporate setting. As an HR intern, you’ll work on strategic projects, help to support HR operations and learn from a team of HR professionals. As per the InternNE Program, this internship is limited up to one year.

INTERIOR

The Interior Intern, under immediate supervision, learns and gains competency according to customer specifications and Duncan Aviation approved procedures in a safe and organized work area in one, or a combination, of the following shops: Finish, Cabinet, Interior Completions, Upholstery or Sewing. This position maintains and cleans shop equipment; organizes shop and hangar areas; and completes appropriate documentation in timely manner.

INSTALL

Under close supervision, the Install Intern performs installation, troubleshooting and repair of aircraft wiring and avionics systems using various hand tools and test equipment, to meet manufacturing specifications, Duncan approved procedures, FARs and industry standards in a safe, clean and organized work area.

MARKETING

The Marketing Communications Internship is an opportunity for a current full-time student at an undergraduate Nebraska college or university, in a junior or senior status, with an interest in the fields of Marketing, Advertising, News-Editorial or English. In this position, the Marketing Communications Intern will help with writing, social media, content generation and other strategic projects that support operations, and learn from a team of Marketing Communications professionals. The position will be full-time during the summer and part-time for two school semesters. As per the InternNE Program, this internship is limited to one year.

MATERIAL SERVICES

The Material Services Intern performs administrative functions for the Material Services team in a timely and organized manner.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT & TRAINING

The Professional Development and Training (PDT) Internship is an opportunity for a current full-time student at an undergraduate in-state college or university, in a junior or senior status, with an interest in the fields of Business, Learning and Development, Safety, or Aviation. Interns can apply their educational experience while gaining practical hands-on professional development experience in a corporate setting. In this position, the PDT Intern will work on strategic projects, help to support operations, and learn from a team of PDT and Safety professionals.

PRS/COMPONENT SERVICES

PRS/Component Services intern supports the Parts and Rotables Sales or Component Services team as directed. This position contacts prospects, customers, vendors and Duncan Aviation International Agents via phone or e-mail to promote all parts/rotables and component services, materials, rotables, consignments, OEM discounts, locations and repair capabilities; and updates CRM with customer names and aircraft owned and changes information as appropriate. In addition, the Intern performs in depth data analysis using Microsoft Access and Excel and works with the sales team to create and execute targeted marketing campaigns to exceed financial goals and objectives.
