The Regional Avionics Sales Manager performs avionics sales activities resulting in meeting or exceeding financial objectives in their defined region as well as the facilities in Lincoln and Battle Creek. This position assists customers in developing the appropriate workscopes and works with appropriate team members to ensure successful completion of the resulting projects to the customer's expectation.  In addition, sales manager establishes and follows Best Practices when scheduling projects and completing project-handoff; creates and completes requests for quotes (RFQ's) which meet the customer's needs, including researching and evaluating work requests and coordinating with key technical advisors; prepares accurate and detailed proposals, delivers service plans and assists in quoting additional work; works with key technical advisors to provide technical guidance to satellite managers and the sales team; serves as a liaison between vendors, project managers, engineering, certification, technical representatives and production team members; and supports avionics sales team and satellite shop managers in the overall objective of increasing sales, meeting financial objectives, and fostering "team selling".

Essential Job Functions

1. Generates accurate and complete avionics proposals by researching and understanding the needs of the customer and assisting in defining overall technical solutions, creates Requests for Quotes (RFQ's) as needed, provides timely follow up with customers, closes sales, and releases Service Plan to achieve financial objectives identified in the annual budgeting process. Supports other service sales personnel in their sales efforts to foster "team selling".

2. Supports avionics capabilities by establishing accurate hours for quotes for customer requested items. Prepares accurate and detailed workscopes and works directly with support teams (i.e. Certification, Engineering, technical representatives, etc.) to ensure successful completion of the workscope to the customer's expectations.

3. Travels around their region in order to visit directly with customers and vendors to develop the avionics solutions for their aircraft. Routinely works with the regional managers from our vendors to establish sales protocols and develop customer database and target opportunities. Fosters these relationships under the highest company standards.

4. Develops avionics marketing material to inform our customers on the latest promotions that we or our vendors are offering. Works directly with Marketing and Avionics Sales Teams to maintain consistency within Duncan Aviation.

5. Attends various meetings conferences as a sales team representative as necessary. Supports marketing with technical review for developing marketing campaigns for the Satellite network. Regularly performs speaking engagements at trade shows and customer meetings.

6. Participates in the overall development of the yearly avionics product mix forecast and budgets.

7. Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Job Specific Requirements

  • Licenses: Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record
  • Attendance: Regularly scheduled attendance required.

Education and Experience

  • Associate degree or equivalent required
  • Airframe and Powerplant license preferred
  • Minimum ten years related general aviation experience required
  • Previous sales, quote preparation, or applicable experience preferred
  • Minimum 5 years quoting avionics systems on corporate aircraft
  • Ability to speak efficiently and effectively in front of large groups
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Software (i.e. Word, Excel, etc.)
