The Interior Placard Assistant, under immediate supervision, learn and gains competencies in the documenting, removing, fabricating, applying, and evaluating placards inside the aircraft. This position will assist in Ordering frames from CNC, applying fabric and emulsion, producing screen positives and utilizing proper developing procedures to fabricate the appropriate placards using various computer programs (MS Word, Corel Draw, etc.) in accordance with Duncan Aviation processes. In addition, this position maintains and cleans shop equipment and organizes shop and hangar areas used for placarding, and completes appropriate documentation in a timely manner.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Under immediate supervision, take accurate pictures and measurements of existing placard verbiage and location for replication.
  2. Under immediate supervision, learns how to read and understand placard drawings, documentation, and procedures provided by in-house engineers, OEMs, and government agencies
  3. Under immediate supervision, applies placards to aircraft interiors. This person will gain the required basic knowledge of interior materials, solvents, and application techniques. Ability to read and understand MSDS and chemical storage procedures 
  4. Under immediate supervision, assist in fabrication of silkscreen frames.
  5. Attention to detail is critical; proofreading skills. 
  6. Successful candidate will be a capable of self-guided work and able to function under conditions of ambiguity and frustration. 
  7. Performs other duties as assigned by management.  

Job Specific Requirements

  • Licenses/Certificates: None
  • Attendance: Regularly scheduled attendance required. Flexibility with regard to delivery schedule is a plus
  • Physical: Tolerates products and materials associated with component maintenance; tolerates working in confined spaces and kneeling for extended periods
  • Environmental: Occasionally working in extreme temperatures and noisy environments

Experience

  • High school education or equivalent required
  • Minimum of six months related experience preferred
  • Typing and basic computer skills required
