The Facilities Crew Leader oversees and coordinates the day-to-day activities of assigned team members to provide exceptional cleanliness and efficient building maintenance while promoting safety. This position cleans and maintains hangars, shops and company grounds to provide clean and safe working conditions in accordance with Duncan Aviation approved procedures; performs general and preventative maintenance of building and building equipment (i.e. plumbing, painting, carpentry, electrical and general construction);  serves as point-of-contact for facility services when assigned to an alternate shift; and acts as a positive role model by mentoring team members and supporting company and departmental decisions. 

Essential Job Functions

  1. Supervises day-to-day activities of assigned team members. Holds team members accountable to Duncan Aviation approved policies and procedures include professionalism, safety and cleanliness. Provides OJT and assists with training team members to develop job knowledge and improve performance. Recommends training needs and programs to the department management. Assists in employee performance evaluations. 
  1. Serves as point of contact regarding facility services when assigned to an alternate shift. Responds to pages for facilities assistance. Assists with emergency facility situations after normal business hours as requested. Assumes call-out responsibilities as scheduled. Provides thorough pass down to team leaders and management. 
  1. Cleans hangars, shops, break rooms and restrooms using the appropriate equipment and chemicals in a safe and approved procedures (i.e. scrubbing floors, applying and removing chemicals, clearing fire lanes, removing trash, etc.). 
  1. Monitors and maintains inventory, cleaning supplies and equipment required by the Facilities custodial team and outside contractors. Oversees checkout procedures and maintains inventory log for equipment inventory, etc. 
  1. Safely handles and removes non-hazardous and hazardous materials and wastes according to approved procedures. 
  1. Performs other duties as assigned by management. 

Job Specific Requirements

  • Licenses/Certificates: Must have a valid Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record
  • Attendance: Regularly scheduled attendance required
  • Physical: Routinely lifts up to 50 lbs.; occasionally up to 100 lbs.; reads small print; hears sounds associated with mechanical deficiencies; repetitive motion; works with moving parts and vibration; tolerates products, materials, and fumes associated with component maintenance; tolerates working in heights above four feet; tolerates standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing and sitting
  • Environmental: Tolerates working in extreme temperatures and in noisy environments

Education and Experience

  • High School graduate or equivalent required
  • Minimum three year previous building and preventative maintenance experience required
  • Previous leadership and supervisory preferred
